In the early stages of the 2020 global pandemic, I had a lot on my mental and emotional plate, dealing with loss of work and income, having far too much time on my hands to worry and working through some personal upheaval.
In adjusting to the new normal of COVID, we increasingly understood that we needed to adapt and amp up our approach to self-care. For some mysterious reason, I decided it was time to dig out my grandma’s old travel diaries and as I dove into the world she described within, I was soothed and exhilarated. I had accidentally invented my own method of self-care.
In addition to addressing nostalgia as a means of dealing with stress and anxiety, you’ll find more self-care tips and ideas for your mental and physical well-being: yoga during dry January, ways to eat more vegetables, productivity (or not?), pandemic fatigue, fresh air and long walks, the fun and comfort of vintage (with vintage make-up looks from Ally!), cultural and travel activities you can do from home, life in France during the first wave of ze COVID, moving to a new country during a pandemic (with a dog!).
